I have been interested in investigating technology used in secondary school classrooms. During my Wednesday visits to Belmont Secondary, Kahoot is one of the applications I have been introduced to. It appears to be a useful tool when promoting student engagement and providing a lesson plan assessment. Kahoot has multiple applications, including creating quizzes, introducing a new lesson topic, making an interactive game, reviewing information, and more. And it’s free! There are various versions available. The basic version is free and allows creating and playing using Kahoot. The Pro version is $3/month, which includes access to slides, polls, puzzles, an image library, folders and advanced reports. The Premium version is $6/month and includes access to school-sized games, ability to change the music, editing capabilities of available games, and provides open-ended questions. Below is an example quiz showing the standard layout and timing mechanism.
